Growing up in a household that was 99% spanish speaking — I missed out of a lot of popular movies and music that other kids were introduced to by their parents.
Not that I am complaining. It was just the way it was and I truly love that at home we would exclusively speak spanish. We would watch Univision and Telemundo — there was plenty of Don Francisco and all the telenovelas you could imagine.
So I didn’t really know what Star Wars was (insert shocked faced here).
A few years ago at our first comic convention I realized that it might be time to give Star Wars a try. By this time I knew the basic storyline and already liked Darth Vader, but after seeing how much fun the cosplayers were having in character I figured I might as well give it a try.
We bought the movies and that weekend I feel in love with it all. Yes, even Episodes 1, 2, and 3. Controversial, I know.
After that I introduced the bestie to Star Wars. And she was equally hooked.
And last year we were lucky to attend Star Wars weekend, right before it was announced that it was the last year they were doing this event at Hollywood Studios. I am glad that we got to experience all the fun together. Also, getting to meet Darth Vader was the highlight of the day.
Also love that now there is an even bigger Star Wars presence through Hollywood Studios, which leads to some fun meet and greets.
So in honor of “May the 4th Be With You” I am sharing some random Star Wars related photos from our previous Star Wars weekend and other random Star Wars fun!
And the question of the day: When were you introduced to Star Wars? And if you haven’t watched it — I think you should. ;)
