It’s June, which means summer is quickly approaching. For most parts of the US, summer is a fun time to go outside and enjoy the sun’s warmth, eat all the popsicles, wear cute sandals, and do all the things.
But for anyone living in Florida, we know that its nothing like that. Not even close. So here is a little breakdown of what summer really means to us Floridians (or maybe just me)…
Morning: Hot and humid, the kind of heat that will make you feel like you are literally melting into a puddle. There isn’t a cloud in the sky to hide you from the sun. If you shower in the morning, just don’t. Cause the second you walk outside you will be immediately sweating.
Mid-Day/Early Afternoon: The clouds arrive to create a mega thunderstorm that you will most likely get stuck in while you are out. If you are stuck in a car you might google “Can I get struck by lightening in the car?”.
You might almost confuse this storm with a tropical storm. Different things, but it usually feels like the world might be coming to an end.
Evening/Night: Back to hot and humid. Usually extra humid cause of the rain. Which means you will melt even faster.
Basically this is the time of the year that I do my best to stay indoors near the AC. Cause I might be a Florida Girl, but I’ve never been able to deal with a Florida summer.
But the way I try to see it, is that after the crazy summer that almost makes me melt each year, there will be a fall. So for now let’s just try to make it through this season. It will be totally worth it.
And for those of you who love summer (I feel thats the popular opinion) I made a pretty desktop calendar just for you!
