Day 4 // Gold Christmas Houses

Gold Christmas Houses

If there is anything that Pinterest has taught us is that everything is better when you spray paint it gold.

Ok – maybe not everything. But if it’s decorative just spray paint it gold and you have automatically made it extra chic and trendy. Just take a look at this or this.

Our Christmas Village

I obviously love these tiny Christmas houses just the way they come. Since I was little, every Christmas my parents and I would setup a little Christmas village in the living room next to the tree. It started off really tiny and throughout the years we started collecting more houses and increasing the size.

So when the hubby and I started living together I made sure to keep the tradition going. Our little Christmas village has definitely expanded throughout the years and love collecting tiny houses.

So this year I went ahead and fancied up a few little Christmas houses by spray painting them in gold just for fun.

What you will need:
-Ceramic Christmas Houses (I got mine at Wal-Mart for under $2)
-Primer Spray Paint
-Krylon Metallic Gold Spray Paint

1. I cleaned the ceramic houses with a damp rag then dried them.

2. Spray paint with primer so that the metallic paint will cover evenly.

3. Once primer is dry, spray paint about 2 to 3 coats on each house. Make sure to allow paint to dry between coats.

I placed my freshly painted houses in our dinning room to add a little flair to that room. Love how it all came out and it definitely has caught people’s attention. ;)

Christmas Houses

Do you have any holiday traditions from childhood that you have continued as an adult? And have you changed them up a bit to give it your own personal touch?

  1. Love these! They’re as shiny and sparkly as I imagined they would be :) The childhood traditions I continue are watching the oldest holiday movies ever. It’s so much fun and I get very nostalgic during the month of December.
