I love washi tape. It’s a crazy obsession that I have – but then it gets weird. Instead of using washi tape like a normal person, I just hoard it because I don’t want to waste a roll with a pretty floral pattern or polka dots. So I just have them sitting in my office in a pretty jar.
So sometimes, to decrease the stock down a little, I make myself create something with washi tape. I mean, what’s the purpose of just having it sit in a jar and not use it for something pretty?
That’s when the idea came to mind. I had 3 simple IKEA frames laying around so I decided to fancy it up with a little washi tape. I just cut the washi tape into small strips to wrap around the frame. Mix and match the colors and get creative!
Best part – when you get bored of the color or patterns you added to your frame you can just remove the tape and change it up.
It’s such an easy DIY that really makes your frames a little more exciting! ;)
And the prints that are shown below:
// Keep Your Balance print is from Kori Clark
// Watercolor is a postcard from one of my favorite restaurants in NYC called “The Park”
// Antlers and Peonies by Kari Herer
So go ahead…stop saving all that washi tape and put it to go use! I have a feeling lots of the frames at home are getting fancied up some washi tape.
