Misses vs Mister: Friday Night Out

With time being a little tight over here my darling Honey offered to set up a blog post whenever I need a little help updating the blog. He had a fun idea of creating a little round-up of items for him and her. So today I introduce “Misses vs Mister”. Hope you all enjoy! xo!

Hey, I hope everyone is well. As a treat I will be blogging once a week on Blush and Jelly. My post will be called Misses vs Mister. It’s where I will create a unique approach where the styles of the man and woman will be explored through various levels of fashion, electronics, or food.

This week on Misses vs Mister we explore a Friday night out for a special occasion. Let me know your thoughts on this new weekly post. If you think of any comparisons you would like be to explore, please feel free and let me know.

Jelly Loves: Cursive Arts

When living far from someone you love snail mail is a good way to keep in touch.

Of course we have text messages, FaceTime, and all that fun stuff to keep us in touch – but writing a little message for someone you care about is always so exciting.

When I spotted the handmade notecards from Cursive Art I feel in love. Such fun patterns and colors! The best part – every print is one of a kind.

Visit Cursive Arts on Etsy to see more notecards and prints.

My Insta Weekend – 04.16.12

Celebration Car Show was ah-mazing!

Finally wore my new Anthropologie flats! Super cute. ;)

My view while working.

Seems like the dining table has been converted to my desk.

Took a break and went to Magic Kingdom for dinner and some fun.

This weekend turned out to be a lot busier than I expected. Saturday we had a local Car Show with tons of fancy cars – obviously the Honey was psyched about this.

We also attended a little birthday party for Melissa’s Hubby. It was nice to meet so many nice people and sip Skinny Girl Sangria (I will be purchasing a bottle or two pretty soon.) We later attended a little dinner party with some other friends. Lots of socializing all day!

Sunday was a major catch up day – got plenty of blogging done and started working on 2 new projects. So excited to get these projects rolling! ;)

Of course a little trip to Magic Kingdom was a must after being cooped up all day indoors. But then it was back to work. It’s a balancing act.

How was your weekend? If you post snapshots I would love to check them out – post a link in the comments section!

The Cookie Challenge // Week 15: Cranberry-Milk Chocolate Cookies

So this week the posting has been pretty light. Ok, light is being nice. I posted once. On Monday. About my weekend. Totally lame.

Things are somewhat getting organized over here. Still a lot going and coffee is now mandatory twice a day but at least lots of goals are being made. No biggie.

So this past Wednesday I had a mild meltdown. The internet was down all day so The Honey forced me to take a day off from Jelly Design Studio. We went to Epcot for some dinner and couple time. It was nice but all I talked about was websites and work. He listens because he is very supportive of everything I do.

When we got home I had a little meltdown. Then I got my act together because I have no time for meltdowns.

I realized that creating a balance (especially when you are currently working another full time job) is intense stuff. Working is super important – that’s how you make thing happen, but remember that life needs to happen too.

I am sure another meltdown will eventually happen, but that’s ok – especially now that I found these cookies. Cranberries + chocolate = totally mind blowing.

The original recipe calls for white chocolate chip but all I had was mini milk chocolate and going to the market was not happening (read: I was in comfy pants and a faded Domo t-shirt). Overall – these cookies rocked. Perfect for tough days that involve meltdowns or crazy inboxes. ;)

Note: I know these cookie posts are getting a little too intense with all my issues. I’ll keep it lighter next time. Maybe. No promises.

My Insta Weekend – 04.09.12

Wore a dress without tights! :)

Emails + Blogging + Breakfast

The dreaded eye doctor…

And these are my new glasses!

Puppy Kisses are thee best

Dinner + Drinks with The Honey and my bestie.

Back home after a long weekend.

The Honey and I took advantage of the long weekend and headed down to Miami to visit family and friends. It was a great weekend. Of course I ended up a little stressed due to the lack of internet connection. I did make some time to check emails and do a little coding. ;)

But as fun as it is visiting loved ones, I truly love when we get back home and just enjoy our little apartment together. It’s such an amazing feeling.

How was your weekend? Did any special egg hunting for Easter?

The Cookie Challenge // Week 14: Nutella No Bake Cookies

Hi, there. Think you have a minute so we could chat? Yeah? Awesome.

Let’s chat about real life. Sometimes it’s awesome and other times it’s totally bonkers. Then sometimes it’s both awesome and bonkers all at the same time. It’s real life and you just have to put on your big girl pants and make things happen.

Life is totally awesome and bonkers right now. Jelly Design Studio is booked up till May with new clients, work is a full 40 hours of report and spreadsheet building, and blog page views are totally rocking right now. So it’s a big ball of awesomeness but with everything I need to do I am going completely bonkers – but that’s part of life.

Now let’s talk cookies – these cookies are perfect for moments of stress. It’s quick and easy (and pretty delicious). Kind of a delicious shortcut.

My only issue was that I should have cut down on the sugar a bit. It was a little too sweet for me but that didn’t stop me from munching on these while stressfully staring at my computer screen in a mild panic attack. These cookies are stress relievers.

How do you deal with real life and managing everything that is going on? I need some tips. ;)

My Insta Weekend – 04.02.12

The Hunger Games, again! ;)

Saturday breakfast with The Honey, plus brainstorming for the future.

Work. Work. Work.

Spotted this picture. It’s where The Honey proposed. Always makes me smile.

Usual Sunday brunch spot. Waiter already knows what I order. Love that.

A little stroll at the Farmer’s Market.

This weekend was all about work, work, and more work. I actually don’t remember the last time I was so excited to work on a weekend. Jelly Design Studio has really taken off at full speed and with my grown up job it’s been non-stop over here. I am not complaining, though. I am truly grateful for all the new jobs I am getting.

Of course this means that my time is super limited. The weekend was spent in front of the computer working. The Honey had to drag me out the house a few times so I could get some fresh air (and a mimosa). He’s such an amazing husband. :)

I am glad that I decided to take Friday afternoon off and went to watch The Hunger Games (for a second time) with The Honey. Believe it or not – he was actually excited to go watch it again.

So how did you spend your weekend? Hopefully you got out a little bit more than I did. ;)
