Cocktail Friday + Link Love: The Shucks Deluxe

Image + Recipe

Today I am nervous, excited, anxious, and probably feeling about 100 other emotions combined. I have a big interview today and this can change A LOT of things.

So I am doing my best to remind myself that if things are meant to turn out a certain way they will. So whether I get this job or not I will be happy because that just means that life has another path for me.

Does any of this make sense? Pardon all the nonsense! :)

So let’s stop the chit-chat and start sharing some links:

-Need to make this

-Love these arrows

-Really want this clutch

-Love her style

-Love this quote by Marilyn Monroe

So what are your weekend plans? I have some relaxing to do (especially after this interview). Hope you have a lovely weekend! See you here next week.

Be Inspired: Lose Sight of the Shore

Tomorrow is kinda of a big deal for me. I have a job interview and I might be hyperventilating about this. No biggie.

I usually don’t announce things like this on the blog because I feel I might jinx it. I know, crazy lady talk. So as nothing has gone through yet, I decided to change my method and let you all know what’s going on. :)

So to keep my sanity I’ve spent some time looking for inspirational quotes this week and this one stood out the most.

And if you don’t mind – please send some positive vibes my way!

Oh, look at that! There’s a fox plate on the blog.

So I know my fox obsession is getting out of hand but besides having this ah-mazing fox illustration Ko-Ko-Ko has lovely set of illustrations. From bears to bunnies – everything is super cute with a touch of whimsy.

Ko-Ko-Ko also offers hand made coats and accessories for the kiddos in your life. Deep down inside I am wish I could fit into these coats!

The Cookie Challenge // Week 2: Cinnamon Oatmeal Cookies

You know that moment when you read on a recipe “place dough 2 inches apart…” and you just laugh and tell yourself “That’s insane. These cookies don’t need to be that far apart.” Well my friends, that part is crucial. Separate those cookies cause if you don’t you’ll have connecting cookies – which look kinda funny.

Anywho! This week I made thin and crispy oatmeal cookies! I made only half of the recipe and added 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon just to feel a little adventurous and the results were spectacular. Super easy to make and lots of flavor.

Original Recipe: Thin and Crispy Oatmeal Cookies from The Meaning of Pie

Remember to add some cinnamon! ;)

Jelly Loves: Gingiber

Lately my obsession with cute little foxes has been increasing to crazy lady status – and Gingiber is just making this obsession hit full force with that adorable illustrated fox calendar.

What, you don’t like foxes? That’s just weird. No biggie, she has tons of other goodies with owls, plush deer, and other cute little critters that would look great in any home.

Visit Stacie’s blog or her Esty shop, Gingiber.

Latest Obsession: Chroma Nightstand

I spotted this nightstand over on Pinterest a few days ago and I just can’t stop thinking about it.

Of course it’s from Anthropologie, which means it’s a tad bit out of my price range (read: totally out of my price range) but a girl can dream, right?

I love the different colors that are mixed into this piece. Colorful, yet not tacky.

Do you ever fall in love with furniture you simply can’t afford at the moment or is this just something I do to torture myself?

This Insta Weekend: 01.09.12

Lunch date with The Bestie.

Did a little shopping at Goodwill and scored this coat at $7!

Little weekend outing with the Hubby.

Late night latte.

The Hubby’s Grandfather gave us this super cute vintage trolley.

Finally displaying my vintage typewriter and ceramic fox.

My weird antler obsession continues at full force.

Good morning, darlings! Hope you all have a fantastic weekend! This weekend turned out to be the exact opposite of relaxing, but I’m not complaining. Friday I had a little lunch date with my dear friend, Cynthia. Chinese food and wine is our signature meal. :)

Saturday I was working on two projects that I can’t wait to show you all. It seems that I am a little ahead of my planned schedule, which is worth a little tap on the back (or maybe a little shopping to reward myself). I also attended Blog Brunch via Twitter. Did you make it? It was a great chat about blog collaborations. Plus, I got to meet tons of new bloggers.

On Sunday we were busy, busy, busy! Christmas lights were taken down, the tree put away, ornaments stored and lots of sweeping and dusting. We finally got to display some new goodies that we wanted to decorate our apartment with. I just love decorating with my Honey. He has such good taste, plus he allows me to decorate with antlers and foxes (he is such a sweetheart!).

Now, tell me about your weekend? Would love to hear about all the fun (or naps) that you had!

Cocktail Friday + Link Love: French 75

Image + Recipe

I decided to do a little change to my original Friday posts. Instead of tempting you with a picture of sweets I decided to post a cocktail that most of us will after a long week. :)

Sweet Friday meet Cocktail Friday, your replacement.

Hope you enjoy the little change!

Now for a little link love:

-Plaid and leopard? Who knew!

-I made a decision. I want this cake for my birthday!

-Are you a Hunger Games fan? Then check out this song. (I’m mildly extremely obsessed)

-Love the pants

-One day I will have a bar cart as stylish as these

-Discovered Skunkboy Creatures and I can’t stop reading her blog!

-My new fitness plan

What exciting plans do you have lined up for the weekend? I will be working on 2 new websites (so exciting!) and attending Blog Brunch! Hope to see you there!

The Cookie Challenge // Week 1: Classic Sugar Cookies

As I mentioned earlier this week, I decided to do a 52 Week challenge. I see that many bloggers take up this challenge and I began to think – what could I do that would be a bit tricky for me.

When it comes to baking – cookies have kind of been an enemy of mine. I never made a good cookie, it’s always overcooked or undercooked. So with this challenge I hope to become a cookie expert (or at least be able to manage baking cookies that aren’t burnt).

I started my 2012 Cookie Challenge with the easy classic sugar cookie and it was a success (high-five for me!)! The dough was super easy to make and the final product was delicious. I tried rolling out the dough so I could use a cookie cutter but the dough wasn’t cooperating with me. So I went with the old fashion style and just used my hands.

Recipe: Classic Sugar Cookie from Food Coma Blog

Hope you all enjoy my journey with cookies.
