Monday Inspiration: 10.24.11

This weekend went by too fast.

Did I just start this blog post complaining about Monday? Ok, I apologize. I think this has happened due to my lack of caffeine. So how about something more cheerful? Let’s try this again.

Good morning!! It’s Monday!

This weekend The Hubs and I participated in a charity walk that happened inside of the zoo. Pretty sweet deal. We donated our money and time for something good plus we got to go to the zoo. Not bad. ;)

It was a great weekend. What new things were you up to this weekend?

Sweet Friday + Link Love: Pumpkin Snickerdoodles

Image + Recipe

Oh gosh, this week flew right by me. I’ve had one of those super duper productive weeks that just made the days go by so quickly.

Anywho, tomorrow The Hubs and I are participating in “Walk for Haiti”, a corporate walk to support “Hand in Hand for Haiti”, which is collecting money to continue building a school in Haiti. :)

So with such a high level of productivity this week, I didn’t do my usual browsing of the online world (sooo behind on blog reading). So I don’t have many links for you today. Actually just one.

If you are a Twilight fan like I am then head on over to see this Breaking Dawn inspired Wedding photo shoot. It’s pretty awesomesauce. ;)

Hope you all have a beautiful weekend! I’ll make sure to enjoy the cool weather that has visited us in South Florida.

Latest Obsession: Kate Spade iPhone Cases

A few days before I purchased my iPhone I found out that Kate Spade offered super chic iPhone cases. I immediately feel in love with the vintage magazine inspired case.

I showed The Hubs the case I wanted and he just nodded and smiled. On Saturday he surprised me and took me to Nordstorm to pick up my very first Kate Spade goodie. I was so psyched! It was the last one of its kind available and the moment the case was paid for I instantly placed it on my new cellular phone (does anyone say that anymore?).

Now I can’t stop looking at the back of my phone and just stare at the pretty illustration. My next plan is figuring out how I can convince The Hubs that I need the other cases as well. You know, to change it up every once in a while. ;)

P.S. – They also have iPhone cases for the man in your life. Stylish yet totes manly.

Jelly Loves: Claudia Pearson

I am in love, major love, with all the illustrations by the extremely talented Claudia Pearson. It’s just pretty obvious why we should all love her work – it includes perfectly drawn out recipes. It’s just that simple. ;)

I am thinking about purchasing her greeting card set and framing these lovelies in my future kitchen. (My current kitchen doesn’t have much empty wall space.)

To see more of Claudia’s illustrations visit her website or Etsy shop.

Dream Away: A Fairy Tale Playhouse

You see this little cottage lost in the woods? Well it is actually a playhouse built by RMGC, Inc in Santa Cruz, California.

When I first saw it I started dreaming of this little home being located on an English country side surrounded only by small towns with local merchants that sell fresh food directly from the farm and lots of little handmade trinkets to fill my cottage with.

I am not going to lie – I am a tad big jealous of the lucky little girl who gets this cottage to play house in. Oh how I wish to own a playhouse like this one as a big kid. I would have all my books in there and lots of cupcakes for afternoon snacking.

Did you think this was a real adult size cottage or am I alone on this? Did you ever dream of having your very own playhouse as a big kid?

10 Day You Challenge: Day 9 // Two Songs

Today I realized that I am almost done with the 10 Day You Challenge. I am a little bummed about this because I’ve been enjoying sharing little lists of odd questions about me. I guess I enjoy talking about myself a little too much…hehe.

So today I need to pick two songs that I love. Oh gosh, not sure where to start. The shorter these lists get the harder they are.

Top 2 Songs:

1. crushcrushcrush by Paramore

I discovered Paramore after I watched the first Twilight movie (they had 2 songs on the Twilight soundtrack) and after hearing these two songs I checked out the rest of their music and feel in love – major love. I am huge fan of all their songs but crushcrushcrush has always been my top song. When I went to their concert last year I went insane when they performed this song.

2. Cheek to Cheek by Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong

This is a classic! I love oldies, especially anything with Ella Fitzgerald! This is a perfect song to dance with someone special. (As I was playing this song while writing this blog post The Hubs and I had a spontaneous old-fashioned dance party! This is why I love him.)

These are just two songs that I love at the moment. My taste in music is a little quirky and many people find my iPod mix a bit suspicious but I enjoy variety – from country to indie rock. What songs do you love?

Jelly Loves: Gray Works Design

I have a confession: I own 3 cutting boards and they are all made from cheap white plastic. I ended up with these cutting boards because they came free with a set of pots of pans that we purchased when we first moved in – and I still have them (the boards not the pots and pans).

I think it’s time to upgrade to something a bit more grown up and fancy. Probably like these beautiful cutting boards that can also double as serving platters, created by Andrew and Elizabeth from Gray Works Designs.

They have tons of options, all which are created by them using sustainably harvested or salvaged hardwoods. Visit their Etsy shop to see their great designs.

Monday Inspiration: 10.17.11

This weekend I finally took the plunge and got an iPhone. I am so happy I made this decision. Every once in a while I feel like an older lady when I can’t figure out how to work something on my new phone, but I am learning. Any apps you suggest?

On other news…last night I finally got to watch Red Riding Hood. I was a little worried that I wasn’t going to like it. It turns out that I loved the movie. The Hubs and I were trying to guess who was the wolf the entire time. I definitely recommend you watch it if you haven’t yet.

So what exciting plans do you have in store for this week?
